Get active

Summer’s here and there’s no better time to get up and about.

We’ve come up with loads of ways you and your family can enjoy being active. So switch off the Wifi and TV and switch on to a summer to remember!

Kids need 60 active minutes a day to stay healthy and happy. We have created fun games to play. Just pick one and get going!

The summer holidays are also a perfect time to try some of these ideas:

  • Take the kids on fun day out to one of these  free family activities

  • A walk in the forest or your local park – here are some great ideas for games to play

  • Go for a walk to discover your local area – try our fun games for everyday walking

  • Fill a whole day with family Olympics - 3 legged races, egg & spoon, a sack race or a wheel barrow race. You could even take a picnic, have a BBQ or even better team up with another family!

  • Get on your bikes!  Taking the kids on a bike ride is heaps of fun and gives the heart and lungs a good work-out too.

  • Go on a treasure hunt. Plan a route and take clues with you for the kids to guess and get them to lead you to the next stop. You could go via the playground or café.

  • Enjoy our beaches, Wales has some of the most beautiful ones in the world! Plan your trip along the Wales Coast Path

  • Visit a local river today and play Pooh sticks! It’s great fun and perfect for all ages - Stay safe near the water.
